A Guide to Birding in Georgia

Though this designation is subjective, these locations should be given high priority when planning a trip to their respective regions. These areas offer wonderful, unique birding opportunities for a variety of reasons. Some of them combine an array of habitats into a relatively small area, so that a great diversity of birds may be found. Some offer productive birding virtually year-round, while others are best during migration or in winter. Over the years, these locations have reliably produced highly sought-after species, nice over-all lists, and some impressive rarities as well. If you have plans to bird in Georgia and your time is limited, try to visit one of Georgia's Birding Hotspots!
